The Social Action Center of the Diocese of Bacolod is convening
a probe team together with representatives of the Ombudsman for
Visayas and the Hospital Watch to plan the details and mechanics
of an investigation into alleged anomalies at the Corazon Locsin
Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.
This was disclosed by Fr. Aniceto Buenafe, Social Action director,
in a letter to Presidential Adviser for Western Visayas Rafael Coscolluela,
seeking his support.
Coscolluela said he had not seen the letter of Buenafe yet
but would discuss the matter with him.
Buenafe also endorsed a letter of Jack Pamine, Hospital Watch
chief convenor and spokesperson, to Coscolluela.
In the letter, Hospital Watch convenors and members expressed
the concern over the reported rampant scams at the CLMMRH which
they said they believe is one of the chief factors for the drop
of health services at the hospital.
Pamine said he was writing to Buenafe as an accredited Corruption
Prevention Unit of the Ombudsman to immediately initiate a truly
independent, impartial and transparent probe involving individuals
and groups from various sectors whose integrity and credibility
are beyond question.
The Hospital Watch also urged the immediate preventive suspension
of Dr. Domingo Vega, CLMMRH chief, allegedly to prevent him from
using his powers and discretion to harass witnesses and other concerned
hospital personnel, hide or tamper documents, manipulate certain
persons and process and influence the overall conduct and outcome
of the investigation.*CPG
