CBA rules St. La Salle sportsfest

The College of Business and Accountancy accumulated 1,041 points to claim its fourth straight overall championship in the University of St. La Salle Sportsfest in Bacolod City recently.

The victory, however, was not a walk in the park for the CBA athletes who edged out the College of Nursing with 1,023 points for first runner-up honors. The College of Engineering had 871 markers for third place.

After battling down the wire with the Nurses in the weeklong event, CBA sealed the victory by winning the title in the dance sports latin, which was the last title that was disputed in the annual competitions.

CBA also emerged victorious in the men and women's chess, football, Othello and tug-o-war; men's basketball, beach volleyball and billiards, and women's bowling.

Nursing brought home the crowns of the men and women's table tennis, badminton and volleyball; women's basketball, beach volleyball and billiards, dance sports modern and bleacher cheering.

The Engineering competitors posted top honors in men's basketball, cheerdance, wall handball and men's lawn tennis. The College of Arts and Sciences, which came in third runner-up with 756 points, took the first title up for grabs in the hostilities by winning the cheering competitions. CAS added another crown to its coffers by reigning supreme in the men's division of bowling.

The College of Education, a three-time cheering champion, settled for fourth runner-up with 366 markers.*CIT
