Guv supports
GSIS eCard program

Oriental Negros Gov. George Arnaiz said he supports the campaign of the Government Service Insurance System to provide easy access and a hassle-free system for pensioners and its regular members. GSIS vice president Epegenio Aquino Jr. in a letter has asked the governor's support to help their campaign for the e-card system in the provincial level.

Aquino said GSIS has been bombarded with questions and complaints from members especially the pensioners.

Aquino assured the governor that through the ecard system everything will be in smooth process.

Information Officer Oliver Lemence of the Provincial Capitol said Arnaiz is optimistic that the e-card system of GSIS will solve various problems.

The governor had earlier raised his concerns in the e-card system of the GSIS. He appealed to all its members and pensioners to support the campaign for a more comfortable and user friendly system.

The e-card system can be used as identification cards in bank transactions, and members can avail of discounts from hospitals accredited by GSIS, including a 30- 50 percent discount on the use of any diagnostic machines. Aquino said GSIS can save up to P200 million every year by paperless transaction.

Lemence said Arnaiz is strongly supporting this efforts.*MA
