Lopue's secures win
No. 2; Brgy. 10 rolls

Lopue's Travel Center bagged its second win Wednesday night when it crushed Tangub Basketball Association, 86-68, for the early lead in the 7th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Tournament at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Andy Angudong proved to be a handful for TBA as he bullied his way to 17 points, while Te Espejo and Simon Guevarra also made solid contributions with 13 and 12 markers, respectively. Lopue's slowly but surely broke the game wide open in the second period with Angudong powering his way to easy baskets in the paint to give his squad a 43-24 lead, which they never relinquished.

Mark Binguan and Felipe Luciano ended up with 10 and 7 markers, respectively, for Lopue's, which defeated Gard Shampoo, 87-84, Monday night. In the first game, Sexbomb-Barangay 10 held off a late surge by the Café Breizh to come away with an 88-85 triumph.

Sexbomb seemed to be cruising for an easy win by holding an 86-79 bulge with 45 seconds remaining in the game, but Café Breizh employed its trapping defense after Engelo Guacena's two free-throw conversions.

The trapping defense forced Sexbomb to two successive turnovers that led to lay up baskets for Yen Dolar and Leo Casinillo, who narrowed the gap for Café Breizh to 85-86 with 31.2 ticks left.

Ryan Agena, who waxed hot in the fourth quarter with 16 points, sealed the victory for Sexbomb by hitting a lay up with 11.2 seconds remaining as Café Breizh missed two three-point attempts that would have sent the game into overtime.

Agena spearheaded Sexbomb's offense with 24 points, while Ronald Delada contributed 11 markers. Raul Liza, Louie Gonzaga, Giovane Maceda and Mark De Real chipped in 7 points each.

Pacing Café Breizh in a losing effort was Casinillo with 14 points as Guacena and Dolar combined for 22 markers. Ronald Despi and Melvin Joseff Baclay had 9 and 8 markers, respectively.

Greggy Galang single-handedly tried to rally TBA in the third quarter with an 18-point explosion, but Theodore Espejo of Lopue's countered with 12 markers for his team to keep the lead at 62-45.

Galang paced TBA with 21 points, while Richard Occida had 11 markers. Donrey Juarez and Bryan Gumayan combined for 15 points. *CIT
