Pa seeks help for
sick daughter

The father of a 9-year-old girl in Purok Tanguege, Brgy. 1, Bacolod City is seeking the assistance of DAILY STAR readers for his daughter who is now confined at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, for hypertensive encephalopathy-pulmonary congestion.

Fisherman Danilo Baquero, 35, said they cannot afford the medicines of his daughter who was transferred from the ward to the Intensive Care Unit of CLMMRH.

He said his wife, Juna, 34, is jobless and have another child, 11-year-old Erwin, to take care of. "This is the first time this happened to us," Danilo said of his daughter who was first brought to the hospital at about 3 a.m. on Dec. 31, due to vomiting. Medical records indicate that the patient was first diagnosed to have acute gastritis, was given medicines and sent home after consultation.

A few hours later, vomiting recurred, and Jonabelle suffered an upward rolling of the eyeballs on the way to the hospital.

She is still on ventilator and needs continued medication, the records added.

Among those who have helped the patient were the office of Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella, and an anonymous donor of P500. Any help for Jonabelle may also be coursed through the DAILY STAR office.*GCT
