The Bacolod IT Focus Team will showcase the city's
Information and Communications Technology advantage in the e-Services
Philippines Global Sourcing Conference and Exhibition on February
15 and 16 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Manila.
Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, chairperson of
the Bacolod IT Focus Team, who has been designated by Mayor Evelio
Leonardia to represent the city, yesterday said the event will
be an opportunity for Bacolod to be "under one roof" with international
players and position itself as the next ICT hub in the Philippines.


Syjuco
coming to unveil
new TESDA programs
Director General Augusto Syjuco of the Technical
Education and Skills Development Authority will arrive in Bacolod
City on January 29 present his agency's new programs.
Syjuco will hold a press conference that day at
11:30 a.m. at the Business Inn. Later, TESDA Negros Occidental
will also hold a Career Caravan at West Negros College.
The agency is now implementing a pro-active job
skills matching and Ladderized Education Program provided under
Executive Order 358. Other activities during Syjuco's visit are:
awarding of PGMA Training for Work Scholarship Program and LEP
Scholarships to Students; on-site LEP scholarship application;
career counseling;
