IBP sets
Dumaguete sportsfest

The Integrated Bar of the Philippine-Negros Oriental Chapter will host the IBP Sportsfest on February 9-11, in Dumaguete City.

Chapter president Rodrigo Icao said more than 500 lawyers from Tagbilaran, Zamboanga del Norte, Negros Occidental and host chapter will participate in the sportsfest.

Ten events to be battled in are basketball, volleyball, badminton, billiards, bowling, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, darts, and dance sports, to be held in different venues in the city.

The event is aimed at strengthening the professional relationship and camaraderie among IBP members from different chapters. It also give lawyers time to unwind the rigors of the profession and visit the different tourist spots in Oriental Negros, the IBP said.

Icao said part of the calendar of activities arranged is a tour to Lake Balanan in Siaton town and Lake Balinsasayao in Sibulan. The local government of Bais City will also sponsor the Dolphin and Whale watching, while Capitol will help secure the different venues including the tourism tour. Also supporters are local governments of Tanjay City, Bais City, Bayawan City, La Libertad and Ayungon. Western Visayas IBP governor Jovy Bernabe and other officers will also attend the occasion.*MA
