Ponteras going for VM?

Former Bacolod police chief Vicente Ponteras has not confirmed yet what post he will run for in the May polls since his oath-taking as a member of the United Negros Alliance Thursday, but speculations are that he may be the running mate of Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

Gov. Joseph Maraņon said he does not know what post Ponteras will run for, but he does not believe he will run for mayor of Bacolod because he is now under UNA that already has a candidate from the Nationalist People's Coalition.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia of the NPC is seeking reelection. Maraņon said talk of a tie up of Renecito Novero for congressman, Leonardia for mayor and Ponteras for vice mayor would be a team to reckon with but he does not know yet what the line-up for Bacolod will be.

In about two or three weeks announcements will be made, he said.*CPG
