Manzano hubby to run;
Layda transferred to Ilog

Candoni Mayor Liberty Manzano yesterday said she is not seeking reelection in May as her husband, Jechonias Manzano, is running for mayor instead.

Mrs. Manzano had ran for mayor in 2004 when her husband ended his third term as mayor of Candoni.

She said she plans to accompany her mother to the United States. Meanwhile, Elections Provincial Supervisor Jessie Suarez said Hinobaan Elections Officer Lynor Layda has been reassigned to head the Ilog COMELEC office.

The Ilog COMELEC officer Mae Genito has retired.

Kabankalan Elections Assistant Allan Jaro, on the other hand, has been assigned to head the Hinobaan COMELEC. But Suarez said further reshuffling of COMELEC personnel will take place before the May polls. A recommended list of assignments has been sent to the COMELEC head office for approval, Suarez said.*CPG
