NOFA meeting today

The schedule of Bacolod City's hosting of the Under-15 and Under-17 Boys' Provincial Championships will be known today when the Negros Occidental Football Association holds a managers and coaches meeting at 3 p.m. at the NOFA Clubhouse.

NOFA deputy general-secretary Warren Concepcion said that the U-15 and U-17 competitions are tentatively set to kick off on either Jan. 27 or 28, but the final schedule will still be discussed today.

The meeting will also tackle the final number of competing teams, the deadline for the submission of entries and screening of the eligibility of the players, Concepcion said.

NOFA's hosting of the 38-Above Home-and-Away tournament that is also tentatively set to take fire off within the month will also be discussed during the meeting, he added.

Aside from hosting the three tournaments, the association has also calendared grassroots festivals for Under-12 booters and distribution of balls to its member-clubs, he added.

The planning of a seminar for the media will also take place within the month, Concepcion said, adding that there will also be assessment of the programs of the different clubs.

NOFA is also part of the organizing committee of the Philippine Football Federation Congress and Board of Governor in Iloilo within the month, Concepcion said.

In February, the association will continue its seminar for the media and the grassroots festivals for U-12 players aside from holding a congress and a national coaching course training, he said.

NOFA will also assist the PFF and Philippine Olympic Committee in the holding the Visayas Championship in Antique next month, he added. *CIT
