BBC opens its title-retention bid against Bad Boyz shortly after the opening ceremonies of the 7th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

The BBC-Bad Boyz encounter in bracket D is set at 2:45 p.m., before last year's losing finalist Talisay Basketball Athletic Club collides with Rentas Knights in bracket A at 4:15 p.m. Probac battles the Province of Negros Occidental in bracket C at 5:45 p.m.

The teams will have a parade before the opening rites that will have Alex Compton, former star in the now defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association, giving the keynote speech.

Joaquin Gochangco Jr., president of the organizing Fil-Sino Athletic Club, and Andrew Tan, son of the late Tan Kek Pin, will give welcome addresses during the opening of the tournament that has Edward Maapni as its commissioner.

Other squads seeing action in the tournament are Val Motors, A1 Gas-AA Electrical in bracket A; Valiant Bank, Lopue's Travel, Tangub Basketball Association and Gard Shampoo in bracket B; Sexbomb and Café Breizh in bracket C, and Summit Mineral Water and Autoworld in bracket D.*CIT
