Cop facing rape case
denied bail, missing

A Bacolod policeman facing rape charges is nowhere to be found after he was denied bail by Bacolod Regional Trial Court Judge Philadelfa Agraviador, who had also signed his arrest warrant.

SPO3 Mario Villafuerte, who is assigned at the Operation Branch of the Bacolod City Police Office, was accused of raping the niece of his wife, Senior Inspector Ester Villafuerte, who pursued the filing of a criminal complaint against him.

Senior Inspector Villafuerte is presently assigned at the Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police, that acts on complaints filed against policemen.

Senior Supt. Ronilo Quebrar, BCPO director, said the Warrant and Subpoena Section has been ordered to serve the arrest warrant to SPO3 Villafuerte, who failed to report for duty at the BCPO headquarters, days before the arrest warrant dated Jan. 12 was issued against him.

Initial police investigations showed that the alleged molestation of the victim started when she was still a minor but was only discovered by Senior Inspector Villafuerte when her niece reached legal age.

The Villafuerte couple who have reportedly gone their separate ways, had financed the schooling of the victim who did household chores for them.*GPB
