NOPPO rating improves
The performance evaluation rating of the Negros Occidental
Police Provincial Office has improved from being last among
the six police provincial offices in Western Visayas in the third
quarter of 2006, to second in the fourth quarter of last year,
police records show.
Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco, who assumed the
NOPPO command from Senior Supt. Charles Calima in September last
year, said the Negros Occidental police ranked second to Iloilo
in the performance rating.
Franco said the Negros Occidental police also
placed number one in the aspect of operations among the nine major
police units in Region 6.
Police records indicate that Calima was still
the provincial director of Negros Occidental in the third quarter
of 2006, when NOPPO ranked last in the performance rating.
PNP units in Western Visayas are rated quarterly
for their performance in the aspects of community relations, intelligence,
operations, management of personnel, and logistics, among others.*GPB
