BACIWA alert up
vs. hydrant theft
The Bacolod City Water District is requesting the
public to be vigilant against the theft of fire hydrants in Bacolod
City.
Officer-in-charge Juliana Carbon said the public
should report to the BACIWA office any person or persons stealing
or selling fire hydrants so they can be apprehended and legal
actions taken against them.
While it was reported last year that about 476
water meters were stolen, Carbon said she has been informed that
two fire hydrants were stolen this year. She said one was stolen
on Dec. 23 near Andress Bonifacio Elementary School and the other
at 17th- Aguinaldo streets, in Brgy. 4, on Jan. 5.
