Pag-IBIG-Bacolod grants
P439.6M in housing loans

The Pag-IBIG Bacolod Branch released P439.667 million in housing loans to its members in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental last year, exceeding by almost 30 percent its P339.163 million target for 2006.

The total housing units financed, however, fell short as loans were released to only 1,025 units or 96.61 percent of the target 1,061.

In 2005, Pag-IBIG Bacolod Branch released a total of P317.290 million in housing loans, reaching only 86.88 percent of its target, to finance 941 house and lot units.

BACIWA alert up
vs. hydrant theft

The Bacolod City Water District is requesting the public to be vigilant against the theft of fire hydrants in Bacolod City.

Officer-in-charge Juliana Carbon said the public should report to the BACIWA office any person or persons stealing or selling fire hydrants so they can be apprehended and legal actions taken against them.

While it was reported last year that about 476 water meters were stolen, Carbon said she has been informed that two fire hydrants were stolen this year. She said one was stolen on Dec. 23 near Andress Bonifacio Elementary School and the other at 17th- Aguinaldo streets, in Brgy. 4, on Jan. 5.
