Education Regional Director Victoriano Tirol yesterday said he
will look into complaints against the lengthy assignment of District
Supervisor Arsenia Juanero in Ilog town.
She had allegedly been assigned to Ilog for 20 years and briefly
transferred to Sipalay before being reassigned to Ilog, drawing
complaints. "There are no rules on the length of service of a supervisor
in an area but they normally stay between three to five years, after
which they are rotated," Tirol said.
Twenty years is a long time although he said, though he added
that he does not know the facts behind Juanero's stay.
"Transfers are good for the system and for the person,"
he said, adding that if one is really good, moving would allow one
to share his or her expertise in more areas.
"I don't think there is anything bad about moving superintendents
or supervisors," he said.*
