Representing the Asia-Pacific region, Education and Training Center School of Bacolod City finally got over the hump in the World Series with its best finish in the tournament by placing first runner-up in the Junior League Softball event in Kirkland, Washington in August.

Spearheaded by pitcher Veronica Belleza, sisters Annalie and Nerissa Benjamin, and catcher Cherry Bartolome, ETCS had victories against US-West, 4-0; US-Central, 1-0, and Latin America, 4-3, in the eliminations with its only loss coming at the hands of defending champion US-South, 0-2.

The Bacolod City-based softbelles, coached by Vilda Benjamin, Dina Barlita and Lagrimas Ciokon, bounced back in the semifinals to stun powerhouse US-East, 6-0, before absorbing a 0-8 setback at the hands of the same US-South team in the finals. ETCS, which has placed third in the World Series for two straight years, also posted a 20-7 clobbering of the Bulldogs to bring home the title in the 2006 Olympia Softball Tournament. The Bacoleņos also won their fifth RP Series crown in Nueva Ecija, before finishing second in the Palarong Pambansa in Naga City, Bicol in May. *
