COUPLE'S SLAY
Arrest warrant
out vs. prime suspect

Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Roberto Chiongson yesterday issued a warrant of arrest against Jerry Portudo, the prime suspect in the brutal death of the couple in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City.

Chief Insp. Noel Manaay, Police Station 6 yesterday told the DAILY STAR, they will serve the warrant to Portudo at the Himamaylan PNP detention cell today.

On Tuesday, case investigator Clemens Mabugat turned Portudo over to the PNP in Himamaylan where he was arrested Sunday morning for illegal possession of deadly weapon and resisting arrest, Manaay said. He said they will ask Portudo to sign his statement to support his allegation that he was threatened by another person into killing couple Elesio, 57, and Narcisa Londres, 58 whose bloodied bodies were found at their residence on Nov. 13.

Portudo was arrested in a joint operation of Police Station 6, Regional Intelligence Unit and the Himamaylan PNP.

Based on circumferential evidences gathered, Manaay said, he believes Portudo committed the crime alone. However they are not discounting his allegations.*DMG
