Kris asking for space

Controversial television host Kris Aquino yesterday went public anew over the issues surrounding her marriage with Negrense James Yap, admitting they continue to have problems amid the much-publicized allegation that the basketball player had an affair with a beauty clinic assistant.

"I want space, emotionally and physically," Kris said in a television interview yesterday, two days after Yap's alleged mistress, Hope Centeno came out on national television to reveal that she had a 10-month sexual relationship with the cager.

Kris, who is seven months pregnant with her and Yap's first child, said she has not asked her husband of the legal action that he will take against Centeno.

"It's really up to him. I don't want to speak in his behalf," she said. "I just want to be strong for my kids".

Kris said she and James live under the same roof but added that her son with actor Philip Salvador, Joshua, sleeps between them.

The actress also disclosed that she has been invited by her mother, former president Corazon Aquino, to live with her for the meantime in Quezon City. "I'm still thinking about it".

Kris added that her mother has been very serious in advising her that her priorities should be Josh and her baby, who will be named James Jr.

"She told me that I must preserve my family and not speak anything about closing the door on James," Kris said.

"I'm just trying my best not to judge. Who would you believe, the person who promised to love you or the person who merely wants to destroy you," she asked. That's why I am asking for space because I am the victim here. I hope you understand our situation. Give us time to settle this," she further said.

Kris also vowed not to deprive James of playing his role as a father to Baby James, unlike what happened to Joshua, who, she said was not able to develop an attachment Salvador because of her. *CPT
