La Salle, UNO-R bets
joining beach volley tilt

The University of St. La Salle and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos spikers are joining the Visayas leg of the 11th National Nestea beach volleyball tournament from March 27-28 at the La Salle Greenhills sand courts in Manila.

Roger Banzuela, president of the Negros Occidental Volleyball Association, told the DAILY STAR that the teams are now practicing for the annual event which stakes a P200,000 cash prize for the national champions. The finals are scheduled on April 21 in Boracay Island.

Marlon Luces and Mark Sabusap will represent USLS in the men's division. Adamson University topped the event last year. Lasallians Realyn Valenciano and Sheryl Silva go for the crown in the women's division, ruled last year by the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde's volleybelles. UNO-R spikers Julie Ann Bellote and Jenny Torres will also campaign in the Nestea tourney.*
