SJI, Silay spikers grab
lead in NOVA tourney

The spikers of St. John's Institute and Silay City took the early lead in the NOVA-NOCSF Age-Group Volleyball Championship's elimination round at the University of St. La Salle College Covered Court in Bacolod City.

SJI won three games in the 12-Under division, while its 14-Under squad also posted a victory.

In the 12-Under hostilities, the SJI volleybelles beat Trinity Christian School 25-7, 25-10 and went on to crush the University of St. La Salle and Silay City while the volleybelles in the 14-Under category pulled off a 25-21, 25-22 win over Talisay City.

Silay City also scored three straight victories, one coming from the 12-Under girls' squad and two from the 14-Under girls' division.

Silay's 12-Under girls' category won against La Carlota City in three sets.

The girls from the 14-Under division of Silay City also showed their might by winning against SJI, before tripping St. Benilde School, 25-15, 25-11.

The University of St. La Salle also registered three victories in the 12-Under girls' and 14-Under boys' divisions with triumphs over Trinity Christian School and LCA-Murcia respectively. The La Sallians also won over Bacolod Christian Center in the girls' 16-Under event.

St. Joseph-La Salle and La Carlota City posted two wins each while the cities of Talisay and Victorias, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental High School, and La Consolacion-Main clinched one win apiece.* PP
