Central Negros Electric Cooperative board members
yesterday elected businessman Roberto Montelibano acting president
of the coop following the preventive suspension of five of their
colleagues.
The National Electrification Administration placed
under a 30-day preventive suspension board president Eddie Guillem,
board vice president Jobert Tagobader, secretary Gregorio Duremdes,
and treasurer Gerardo Solas, and officer-in-charge Noriel Bermudez,
pending the resolution of the administrative charges they are
facing before NEA.
The order, issued by the NEA Board of Administrators
headed by Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla, came almost five months
after the NEA Administrative Committee conducted an investigation
on the adverse audit findings on CENECO, covering the period Jan.
1, 2002 to Dec. 31, 2005. 


Brownouts
slated today
There will be brownouts in the Central Negros Electric
Cooperative Inc. serviced areas when it conducts preventive maintenance
works to replace rotten primary poles and line clearing activities
from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, a press release from the coop said.
Areas affected include portion of Alijis Feeder
6, specifically lateral of Rosario Heights Subdivision, Bacolod
City.
Member-consumers in these areas are advised to
make necessary preparations to avoid undue inconvenience during
the scheduled power interruption, the press release added. 


Panaad
kiosks
reservations start March 1
Reservations for rental of kiosks for Panaad sa
Negros Festival 2007 will be accepted starting March 1 at the
Panaad Park Administrator's Office, a press release from the Negros
Occidental Provincial Government said.
There are 91 slots available for Food Kiosks at
P5,000 per kiosk, Dry Goods Kiosks have 64 slots available at
P5,000 per kiosk, and Garden Kiosks with 27 slots available is
at P2,000 per kiosk, the press release said.
Dry Goods and Garden kiosks will be on a first
come-first served basis and a raffle will be conducted on April
10 for Food Kiosks. Clients are required to make a full payment
upon reservation, the press release added.
