NBS players vie in
'Pacman' event

Cue artists representing the Negros Billiard Stable kick off their campaign in the Manny Pacquiao 10-ball Open, which starts today at the Arthur's Billiards Hall in General Santos City.

"We have prepared hard for this tournament," NBS coach-manager Christopher Palses said. Palses said the tournament is part of NBS' preparation for the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines National Pool Championships qualifying round.

He said Reynaldo Grandea, a 48-year-old player from Isabela, Negros Occidental, will lead the squad. Grandea is a silver medalist of 2003 Southeast Asian Games in Carom Balkline and 2003 SEAG bronze medalist in 3 Cushion.

Grandea was also quarter-finalist in the 2006 Doha Asian Games in English Billiard event.

Other member of the team are firecracker victim Jarry Pelayo, Panfilo Damuag, Russian Petiza, Godofredo Ducanes, Ricky Zerna, Jech Lemen, Jomel Sultan, Arturo Publico, Jun and Noel Caro, Felix Villegas, Tommie Gador and Romar Villones.

Expected to crowd the NBS players for the title are Bacoleņo Ramil "Bebeng" Gallego, Victor Arpilleda, Doha 9-ball silver medalist Jeff Luna, Roberto Gomez and Jharome Peņa.*CPT
