Negros Occidental Gov. Joseph Maraņon turned over
P6,844,181 in financial assistance to 117 barangays in the 5th district
that comprises Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Isabela, Moises Padilla and
La Castellana and Himamaylan City at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod
City Thursday, a Capitol press release said.
The 24 barangays in Hinigaran received P1,406,442
while 16 barangays of Binalbagan got P1,092,943. Himamaylan with
19 barangays received P1,663,118 and Isabela with 30 received P913,642.
The 15 barangays in Moises Padilla got P659,676
while La Castellana with 13 barangays had P1,108,360.
Maraņon stressed that the province is giving back
what the taxpayers pay in the form of services and financial assistance
for the good of the populace.
Present at the turnover were 5th District Rep. Ignacio
Arroyo, LWUA director Leonard Matti, Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco, Mayors
Carminia Bascon of Himamaylan City, Emmanuel Aranda of Binalbagan,
Renato Malabor of Isabela, Jose Garcia Jr. of Moises Padilla, and
Enrico Elumba of La Castellana, and local officials.*

Low water pressure tomorrow
The Bacolod City Water District announced to its
consumers that low water pressure to no water supply will be experienced
in some portions of its service area from 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow
due to Central Negros Electric Cooperative power interruption.
BACIWA press release said the operation of their
pumping stations in Loygoy will be affected. Areas to be affected
are Patricia Homes, Jesusa Heights, Villa Villeta, Villa Angeles,
Sunshine Valley, Greensville I, II, III, Villa Angela, Helvetia,
Capitol Heights, PHHC, Villamonte, Sto. Niņo Village, Purok Isla,
Purok Sabes, Cabacawan, Villa Fe, Hervias, Eroreco, Capitolville,
Villa Ramos, Rio Vista and Gonzaga Subdivision, the press release
said.*
