Oca says he's running

Former Bacolod Mayor Oscar Verdeflor yesterday declared that he is running for mayor of Bacolod City in the May elections under the Liberal Party.

Verdeflor said he is running even without a congressman, vice mayor and councilors, in an interview over ABS-CBN.

He said he has no plans to destroy the votes of Mayor Evelio Leonardia and former Mayor Luzviminda Valdez. He said the reason he is running is because the people have no other choice since both his opponents are mentally disabled while he may be only physically handicapped.

Verdeflor said he does not have a large machinery but he will be spending his personal money and the contribution of some friends for his campaign.

He said the Organization of Concerned Alliance (OCA) composed of trisikad and tricycle drivers will support his candidacy. Verdelfor has prepared handbills which reads "The people's candidate by popular demand."*CGS
