Traffic experiment set

A 45-day traffic experiment will be conducted in major thoroughfares of Bacolod City starting tomorrow, Insp. Levy Pangue, head of the Bacolod Traffic Management Unit, yesterday said.

Pangue said the Sangguniang Panlungsod has approved his request for the traffic re-routing, which is aimed to review and propose amendments and revisions of the vehicular flow in the city.

He said he is reminding the passengers and drivers that there will re-direction of routes including those in Mansilingan-Central; Villamonte-Central Market; Tangub-Central Market; Airport-Singcang-Central Market and Magsungay-Central Market.

On Monday, there will also be changes in the routes of Bata-Libertad and Shopping "La Salle" -Libertad jeepneys, he added.

He said the re-directing of routes in the central commercial district of the city is the result of the opening of SM Bacolod on March 2.

Meanwhile, Acting Bacolod City police director Senior Supt. Ronilo Quebrar said he is asking for the cooperation of the commuters and drivers in the dry run for the new traffic routes.*DMG
