Four Negrenses

Underscoring its worth as a gold mine of boxing talents, Negros Occidental sent four boxers into the finals of the high school boxing competitions of the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet at the covered court inside the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

Jerson Nietes punched his way to victory against Aemhan Sadava of Iloilo in the 39 kg division, while teammate Aston Francis Paliete defeated Ipril John Pamcho of Capiz in the 42 kg division. Arthur Villanueva beat Armando Atinado of Capiz in the 45 kg division and Nelson Arellano earned a hard- fought victory over Omar Flores of Aklan in the 48 kg division.

Iloilo also showed class as Karlo Maquinto defeated James Puyong of Antique in the 45 kg division and Jemond Pacifico won over Joel Catanogan of Capiz in the 48 kg weight class, paving the way for title showdowns against the Negros pugs. *JCF
