The Office of the Governor has asked the Bangko
Sentral ng Pilipinas to expedite the registration of the Negros
Cooperative Bank that will cater to small Negrense farmers.
Nestor Bayona, a Capitol executive who heads the
bank organizing committee, said he was instructed by Gov. Joseph
Maraņon to write the BSP Department of Supervision and Examination
and inform them that the bank's incorporators are now ready for
site validation.
Bayona, who is also the vice chairman of the 11-member
interim board, told the DAILY STAR that the processing of their
papers for registration was delayed by the reorganization in the
BSP that caused the transfer of the officer who had been assigned
to assist their group.
