Cano still Bacolod head
of KAMPI, Arroyo says
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr. (Neg. Occ., 5th district), party regional chairman, said yesterday that records of the Kabalikat ng Mamamayang Pilipino show that Transportation Assistant Secretary Ricardo Tan is still the chairman of KAMPI in Bacolod City.

Arroyo said there was a bit of confusion that caused KAMPI Negros Occidental chairman Melvin Ibaņez to announce that the chairman for Bacolod City was Councilor Al Victor Espino last week, but the matter has been clarified.

As of today the chairman of KAMPI in Bacolod City is still Tan because Espino, who was recommended by the assistant secretary to take his place, has not taken his oath yet, Ibaņez said.

Tan said he was informed by KAMPI personnel that chairmen of party chapters should be elected officials so he recommended Bacolod Councilor Al Victor Espino in his place.

But Arroyo said that, in the meantime, Tan remains KAMPI Bacolod chairman. Ibaņez said it is up the national executive committee of KAMPI, based on the recommendation of Rep. Arroyo as regional party chairman, to act on the matter.*CPG
