BUSG meet
set tomorrow

The second staging of Basketball Unified Sports Group 14-Under Tournament will be discussed when coaches and school representatives meet at Apollo's Restaurant-Shopping at 6 p.m. tomorrow, a press release from BUSG said.

Tournament organizer Bing Soyao said Monday that the first ten teams will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis in this year's tournament, sponsored by Panasonic.

Students 15 years old by January 1, 2007 and enrolled in NOPSSCEA schools below are eligible to play in the tournament, the press release also said.

Other basketball squads interested in the tournament are also invited to the meeting that will determine date of opening, format and rules of the event.

Entry fee is pegged at P3,000 plus a refundable default bond of P1,000, the BUSG said. Among those expected to attend the meeting are teams from University of St. La Salle, Mansilingan Christian Academy, St. Benilde School, Trinity Christian School, Tangub Christian Academy, La Consolacion College, St. Joseph's La Salle School, University of Negros Occidental Recoletos.

Bacolod Tay Tung High School, which did not field an aspirant team in the NOPSSCEA, along with Stallions of Pueblo Rosario coached by Jeffrey Lim may also join the tournament. Soyao added that the officials of Bacolod Professionals and Pueblo Rosario Athletic Club will also be invited for the BUS Group 38-Above Invitational tournament slated every Friday at Lopue's South Square gym.
