Coke downs
AC for YBAC crown

Coca Cola relied on its domination of the boards and a sleek running game to trounce A.C. Parts, 78-65, in the finals of the Your Basketball Athletic Club 1st Christmas Invitational Basketball League at the Manville Royalle Gym in Bacolod City.

Limited to 27 points in the first half, Coke sprang back to life in the fourth quarter behind Jumonong and Lauro Dizon, who did most of the damage with several baskets off the fastbreak.

Jumonong finished with a game-high 17 points, 13 of which came in the fourth quarter, where Coke outscored the Partsmen, 35-28. Dizon posted 10 points.

The Coke offense appeared more balanced after a sputtering start as Capp Mabesa and Mike Tormon chipped in 9 points apiece. Decape and Vecino also added 8 each for Coke, which held a slim 27-26 lead at halftime. Oca Aquino and Roger Jaype paced the losing team with 16 and 14 points, respectively, while Dennis Adon and Rene Villacanas contributed 8 each. Balsy Ventures settled for second runner-up honors. *CPT
