TF24 arrested
2 drug dealers
BY MARICAR ARANAS

The Task Force 24 arrested an 8-month pregnant woman and a man for selling and possessing suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation Tuesday, in Zone 4, Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City.

The suspects were identified as Charina Dumip-ig, of legal age, of Zone 4 in Brgy. Looc, and Paterno Granuli,Jr, 33, of Brgy. Balugo, Sibulan, Oriental Negros.

They were nabbed by TF24 agents posing as poseur-buyers, for selling one sachet of shabu, but both claimed they were just asked to sell the prohibited drugs.

Granuli admitted he bought the shabu from a pusher for P200. Dumip-ig said she has been selling shabu because she has to feed her five children.

She said selling shabu is the fastest and easiest way to earn money for her family and to earning a little amount for the delivery of her baby next month.

Dumip-ig was caught with a big plastic sachet of suspected shabu which she said cost P800 but can be sold at a higher price because of the scarcity of supply.

The police filed a case against Dumip-ig for illegal sale of shabu, for violating Section 5, Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while Granuli was charged with illegal possession of prohibited drugs under Section 11, Article II.*MA
