National Dairy Industry officials visited Valencia town in Oriental Negros recently for the proposed construction of a dairy production and processing plant in the municipality.

At the meeting with Valencia Vice Mayor Diodoro Olasiman, the NDI officials said they see a positive outlook in the possible site of the production and processing plant.

The NDI effort is to increase the production of dairy industry in the country.

The project will be funded by the local government unit and the NDI. The municipal government and NDI will give P1 million fund each.

Town officials said they set aside P10 million for the different livelihood projects in the municipality.

The proposed project will support the programs of the Negros Island Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development.

Officials of the NDI are coming back to Valencia soon to formally discuss the project.*MA
