The services sector of Negros Occidental posted
P3.919 billion in investments in 2006, with trading and retailing
having the highest investment figures last year, statistics from
the Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Office show.
Businesses under the sector include transportation,
communication and storage, finance and pawnshops, dwelling and
real estate, private professional service, trading and retailing
and other related trades. Based on investments generated through
business name registrations, trading and retailing posted P3.272
billion from January to December 2006. 


Biofuels
Caravan stops
in Bacolod tomorrow
The Biofuels Caravan, organized by the Philippine
Fuel Ethanol Alliance, will arrive in Bacolod City tomorrow and
will start with a roadshow of three vehicles running on biofuels
around the city at 8 a.m., a press release from organizers said.
The caravan, which kicked off February 3 in Pagudpud,
Ilocos Norte Feb. 9, seeks to educate the public on the use and
benefits of biofuels.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has signed Republic
Act 9367 or the Biofuels Act of 2006 last month.
