Ivy's birthday

For her birthday, Ivy V. had no plans for any celebration. Instead she thought she would be spending her natal day quietly or dine out with her apo, Kevin. Ivy's friends, though, had other ideas. On her birthday, Dr. Ver Lacson, gathered Ivy's close amigas and members of her family for a surprise birthday party at Saltimboca Resto. By the time the celebrator arrived, she was wondering why the restaurant had been rendered lightless and looked deserted. To her surprise, the lights were suddenly switched on as everybody sang, Happy Birthday!!! They greeted her with hugs and kisses, flowers and birthday gifts, and a huge birthday cake from Ninfa and Perla L.

Ivy was pleased to see family and friends all joined together for her celebration such as son Anthony, and wife Jonali, DAILY STAR family Ninfa, Ducky, Carla and Excuse Moi, close friend Girlie Belzunce, Violy Montelibano and John Orola.

Later, other well-wishers arrived. It was such a big surprise and a hit!

The usually talkative Ivy was almost speechless at the thoughtfulness everyone showed her. We egged her to blow one candle which represented her age - 18 - on the delicious birthday cake. When Ivy announced that the next day would be Carla G's natal day, everyone sang a birthday song to a blushing Carla. The guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner prepared by the chef of Saltimboca. With a wacky group like us, the conversation was so lively and full of laughter. Off to Saltimboca Bar for a night of singing and dancing. The party lasted up to the wee hours of the morning.

The following day, Circulo de Bacolod, where Ivy is PIO, once again treated her to a birthday bash at Kai Sei Restaurant. Circulo president Mila Moya gathered us members for a delectable Japanese feast while we treased Ivy about being a year older and wiser of course! The celebrator thanked the group for the wonderful treat and friendship and all of us said, "What are friends for?"

Robert Harland and Boy Montilla treated her to a belated birthday dinner at Pepe's. Ivy's birthday this year will always be remembered.

Personally, I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, wonderful friend.

REMEMBER:

"Daily blessings are daily reminders of God."*
