BNEFIT to register
with SEC: chairman

The Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communication Technology is seeking registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit organization, Bacolod City Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, BNEFIT chairperson, said yesterday.

Batapa said 15 incorporators signed the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws during their meeting on December 21.

Through its SEC registration, BNEFIT aims to pursue ICT- readiness and competitiveness and sustain the gains of Bacolod City and Negros Occidental as part of the Philippine Cyber Corridor, she said.

We'll boycott Coke
products - labor coalition

The Organization of Free Workers–Against Labor Oppression will declare their boycott of all products of Coca-Cola Bottlers Phils. Inc. during a “Workers' Forum” on Dec. 28, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Workers' Livelihood Center in Bacolod City , a press release from the group said.

The group said their move is in support of the CCBPI Sales Force Union whose three officers and seven members were terminated recently without due process.

This act is considered by OFW-ALO a flagrant violation of the workers' rights intended to weaken and decimate union membership, they said in the press release.
