The new Philippine Sports commissioner will take his oath on Sunday in Bacolod City .

Eric Loretizo, whose appointment in the sports agency took effect Dec. 1, will be sworn in at the SM City North Terminal during the Monico Cup Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament.

A former president of the Sports Communicators Organization of the Philippines-Bacolod, Loretizo had served as secretary-general of the Bacolod Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee in 2005 and was also one of two Filipino sports ambassadors during the 2006 Asian Games in Doha , Qatar .

He was also part of the secretariat of the Philippine delegation during the 24 th Southeast Asian Games in Nakhon Ratchasima , Thailand recently.

Loretizo, former DAILY STAR sports editor, replaced Leon Montemayor in the sports agency, and joins fellow Negrense commissioner Ritchie Garcia in the PSC.*CPT
