It is exactly four days before Christmas, and if we abide with tradition and other common practices, this is the most opportune time of the year to be merry and happy.

But the best time to count our blessings is at all times of the year. We may not always get what we had dreamed or hoped for, but as long as there is a concerted effort to lend a helping hand to make things move faster and easier, then, all is well in this world.

These may not be the best of times – for the country, perhaps, for the global community, for the larger community – but, all these boil down to our manner of looking at things and the right attitude that we should adopt.

We believe that this is the best attitude for us to lead more fulfilling and fruitful lives. If we are confident that we are doing right, and that we are touching other people's lives because of what we do, then there is no reason for us not to be thankful or to count our blessings.

Let this joyous season be an instrument that will guide us in our faith-forming endeavors. Let the birth of the Child Jesus be our beacon of hope as we continue with our life's mission.

The message of this most joyous season of the year is actually very simple. It is the message of hope and love that should permeate our hearts and minds, not only today, but throughout our lives.

Let the Baby Jesus live in our hearts as we strive to emulate His Father's example and as we become stewards of God's creation.

Let us enjoy and make merry, even as we also take time to remember our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Only by doing so can we truly have a most meaningful, blessed celebration this Christmas season.

We hope we all get the desires of our hearts through the intercession of the Almighty. Merry Christmas!*
