Millgate prices of “B” or domestic sugar in Negros and Panay dropped this week, hitting even below P1,000 per P50-kilo Lkg in Capiz, data from the Sugar Master Plan Foundation show.

At the Dec. 20 bidding, prices ranged from P975 to P1,030.08 per Lkg among the mill districts in Negros and Panay . On Dec. 13, prices of “B” sugar were still between P1,010.01 and 1,071.30 per Lkg.

Central Azucarera de Don Pedro in Batangas, which is included in this week's price monitor, disposed its “B” sugar at P1,075.26 (high) and P1,073.36 (low). But CADP didn't join the Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 biddings, as indicated in the earlier price monitors.

This week, Binalbagan-Isabela Sugar Company sold its “B” stocks at P1,003.68 (high) and P1,003 (low) while last week, P1,032.05 (high) and 1,026.00 (low). Current prices of Hawaiian-Philippine Company, P1,023.30 (high) and P1,020.02 (low), while in the previous week, these were still at P1,071.30 (high) and P1,060.25 (low).

Victorias Milling Company's price this week is P1,005 while last week, P1,025; Lopez Sugar Corp., P1,002 (this week), P1,022 (last week); Sagay Central Inc., P1,040 (last week), P1,015 (this week); Central Azucarera de La Carlota, P1,009 (this week), P1,032 and P1,020 (last week); SONEDCO, P1,020 (this week), P1,030 (last week);

Passi I, P1,030.08 (this week), P1,067 (last week); Passi II, P1,030 (this week), P1,051 (last week); Capiz, P975 (this week), P1,040 (last week); and Bais, P1,015 and P1,003.75 (this week), P1,023 (last week).

BISCOM sold 16,112.51 Lkgs while HPCO, 15,159.16 Lkgs. The total volume disposed by other mill districts were not indicated in the price monitor.*NLG
