Sermona arriving today

Himamaylan athlete Julius Sermona, who brought home two Southeast Asian Games gold medals from Thailand recently, will arrive in Negros Occidental today, sportsman Oscar “Dodong” Bascon said yesterday.

Bascon, husband of Himamaylan mayor Carminia Bascon, will welcome Sermona of Barangay Libacao, who placed second in the 5,000m and 10,000m event in biennial meet in Nakhon Ratchasima , Thailand .

A press conference with Sermona will be held at Dodong's Fastbreak will be held at 3 p.m. today, Oscar Bascon said.

Sermona is one of five Negrense medallists in athletics during the SEA Games. The others are Arniel Ferrera (gold, hammer throw), Rosie Villarito (silver, women's javelin), Arnold Villarube (bronze, decathlon) and Joebert Delicano (bronze, long jump).*CPT
