| The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Negros Occidental is inspecting the monuments set up in the different parts of the province, for the Philippine Reference System '92, a Philippine Information Agency press release said.
The National Mapping Resource Administration contracted the SS Cruz Company to install the monuments completed sometime October this year, as reference points for the Global Positioning System.
Monuments in the cities of Bago and La Carlota, and municipalities of Hinobaan, San Enrique, Hinigaran and Murcia have been inspected, the press release added.*

Rummage sale today
The St. Rose of Lima School will hold a Christmas Rummage Sale today at its Chapel grounds, at Capitol Heights , Bacolod City , a press release from organizer said.
The project called “Christmas Treasure Hunt” is spearheaded by the STROLS Supreme PTA Council and will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Items for sale are donations of the parents of the schoolchildren, the press release said.
Other activities are Mass at 8 a.m., followed by stage presentation by the students, Christmas lunch and Bingo socials in the afternoon.
Each Bingo ticket costing P100 entitles the bearer to four cards or 10 games. At stake is a sack of rice and P1,000 in cash for the first place winner. The Bingo is an annual project of the STROLS Faculty Club, the press release added.*

Day care workers day held
Day care workers in Negros Occidental held the Day Care Federation Day and Christmas Party Wednesday at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center in Bacolod City , a Capitol press release said.
The activity organized by the Day Care Workers Federation officers and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, started with a Mass followed by a program attended by Board Member Emilio Yulo III (Neg.Occ., 5 th District), and Provincial Consultant on Social Concerns Francis Tuvilla, representing Gov. Joseph Marañon.
Activities included cheer dance and daigon contests, and living Christmas tree and parol competitions among groups from various cities and municipalities.
Tuvilla stressed the commitment and sacrifices of day care workers, and Yulo said he will support the passage of the Magna Carta for Day Care Workers at the Sanggunian g Panlalawigan, the press release said.
PSWDO head Liane Garcia thanked the participants as partners during cases of emergencies and calamities and challenged them to be more assertive with the programs and services with the Barangay Development Councils, the press release added.*
