Guv seeks ok of
P45.5M for bonuses
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Negros Occidental Gov. Joseph Marañon yesterday said he is seeking Sangguniang Panlalawigan approval of a supplemental budget that will allow the release of P44.5 million for performance bonuses of the 2,184 provincial government employees.

Each Capitol employee will get P20,000 each, he said.

Marañon said the performance bonuses will bring to P148,362,197 the additional amounts given to Capitol employees this year on top of their regular monthly pay.

The Capitol employees received P24.5 million in 13 th month bonuses, P10.9 million in cash gifts, P6.9 million in total anniversary bonus, P13.4 million in salary increases, and P47.9 million in benefits under the Magna Carta for Health Workers.

Next year the Capitol will allocate P32 million for 13 th month pay, and the salary increase will be P26 million, he said.

I just want to inform the taxpayers that they are giving this much to the Capitol employees and should expect the corresponding services from them, Marañon said.*CPG
