Pahanocoy boxers win

Boxers from Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City prevailed over their opponents and won three golds, four silvers, and one bronze in the Inter LGU/Club Amateur Boxing Tournament held recently in Murcia .

Joren Labordo took the gold in 30 kgs while Genesis Servania ruled the 45 kgs and Jake Servania the 48 kgs to deliver the gold medals for Pahanocoy while Roland Servania, (26 kgs), Raymund Orcada, (38 kgs), Ronel Parcon, (40 kgs) finished with a silver and Razel Orcana (28 kgs), salvaged a bronze for the team.

Escalante City pugs Rodel Agupasa, (28 kgs), Charlie Palacios, (32 kgs), and Melvin Gumban, (40 kgs) also pocketed the gold in their respective category but finished behind Pahanocoy because it won only one silver courtesy of John Mahinay in the 36 kg.

Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City , with its two gold medals from Eljean Hermedalla (26 kgs) and Mike Carlo Españosa (42 kgs) and a bronze from Jojo Mendoza (40 kgs) took the second runner-up honors.

Named best boxer during the tournament was Yanyan Bautista of Binalbagan in the 34 kgs category.

Also seeing action in the tournament were teams from La Castellana, La Carlota City, Cadiz City, Barangay Granada, Talisay City, Barangay Alijis, and host town Murcia.*NAB
