TRAIN bets triumph
in nat'l age-group tilt

Standouts representing the Triathlon Association of the Island of Negros created ripples by claiming two top finishes in the National Age-Group Off-Road Triathlon in San Juan , Batangas recently.

Arman Delajeba took top honors in the 30-34 division, duplicating the finish of Dr. Richie Yusay in the 40-44 age-group in the 1-km. swim, 24-km. off-road mountanbike and 6-km trail run event.

Aleman Trabasas placed second in the 36-40 division, followed by Mike Sarrosa as TRAIN scored seven top five finishes in the Dec. 8 race.

Also placing second in his division was Mike Yusay, who achieved the feat in the 50-54 age-group. Dr. Jay Eusebio posted a fourth place finish in the 40-44 division, while Dr. Paul Mendez landed fifth in the 25-29 race.

Mendez said the team is bracing for next year's races, including the National Triathlon Championships on Feb. 23 in Camiguin island, the International Triathlon on May 3 in Subic and the Ironman 70.3 on Sept. 7 in Singapore .
