Bindoy cousins injured
in stabbing, shooting

Two cousins were injured when they shot and hacked each other at about 9 a.m. Thursday, in Barangay Poblacion, Bindoy, Negros Oriental, police report said yesterday.

Investigation showed that Ernesto Arias, of Brgy. Poblacion, married, had a heated argument with his cousin, Sergio Vailoces, married, of Brgy. Tinaogan, Bindoy, over a portion of the coconut plantation owned by Villasis' parents, that was mortgaged to Arias.

Villasis suddenly drew his gun, prompting Arias to grab it, but he was hit in the body, and was brought to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital .

Villasis, who also suffered injuries in the left side of his head from the scythe of Arias, immediately fled.

Police recovered from the crime scene three empty shells of.38 caliber revolver and sunglasses.

The Bindoy police are still conducting follow-up investigation of the incident.*RG
