Body of slain woman found
BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

An unidentified woman was found in an abandoned property in Bacolod City yesterday.

Police Station 6 commander, Senior Inspector Ulysses Ortiz, said they are still looking for witnesses who could shed light on the killing and called on those who have missing family members to coordinate with them to identify the victim.

The woman, who had wounds on her back and head and may reportedly have been sexually-molested, was found in a deserted lot at Lacson Street , at about 9 a.m. yesterday.

Ortiz said they have requested for laboratory procedures that could help establish the woman's identity.

Last month, a 9-year-old girl was also found dead in a sugarcane field in Bacolod City and the police said that they are still looking for the suspect in the killing.

Meanwhile, a radio operator of Sulpicio Lines was found dead on one of the company's ships at about 9:40 a.m. Saturday, police records show.

Richard Ching, the manager of the shipping outfit, told the police that Rodney Legara was seen to be sickly and weak days before he was found on board Sulpicio Lines Express 3 that was docked at the Bacolod Reclamation Area in the city.

Police Station 2 commander, Inspector Rie Gumban, said they see no foul play in the incident and added that medication for diabetes had been found among the belongings of Legara.*PP
