| The Talisay City Local Health Board, headed by Mayor Eric Saratan, will receive the Most Outstanding Local Health Board for 2007 award at the Western Visayas Regional Awarding Ceremony at the Iloilo Grand Hotel in Iloilo City 9 a.m. today, a press release from Talisay said.
This is the second award given by the Department of Health – Center for Health Development Regional Office 6 to Talisay City for its effective implementation of its health programs, the press release said.
The city has also come up with innovative strategies aimed at addressing the various health issues and concerns for a healthy environment for the Talisaynons, the press release added.*

Dora, Boots at
Bacolod mall Friday
Dora the Explorer and Boots will be at the Robinsons Place in Bacolod City at a Meet and Greet activity at the fountain area at 2 and 4 p.m. Friday, a press release from organizers said.

Yuletide medical mission held
At least 200 indigent patients were served by dyEZ Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod in its Christmas medical mission, Saturday, at the station's broadcast office, in Bacolod City .
The mission, the second for this year, was held in cooperation with the Provincial Health Office and the City Health Office that have become its traditional partners in carrying out its free mission for the needy, a press release from dyEZ said yesterday.
Project director Sunshine Lacson said most of the patients were children and mothers who availed of the free consultation and medicines from Aksyon Radyo, the CHO and PHO.
Station Manager JJ Deocampo said the Yuletide mission was made possible with the help of Sincere Drugstore through Federico Ong Tiancheong and family, the press release said.
Dr. Ernel Tumimbang led the PHO team and Dr. Jovy Vergara headed the CHO medical staff, with support from the provincial and city governments, and other individual and corporate sponsors, the press release added.*

Training program held
The JJO Foundation, an assessment center accredited by the Technological Education Skills Development Authority, held the culmination rites for the first batch of its Household Services trainees at the VMA Global College , Sum-ag, Bacolod City , recently, a press release from the foundation said.
The training was for residents of Negros Occidental, 23 years and above, male or female, and high school graduates, who are willing to work abroad, the press release said.
