About 70 newly-elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials in Sibulan underwent a two-day team building and planning seminar-workshop recently at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Catechetical Liturgical Center , Sibulan, Negros Oriental.

The seminar on the theme, “Strengthening LGU-Private Sector Partnership for the Common Good of Sibulanons.” was conducted by the Sibulan municipal government.

Municipal Local Government Operations officer Felix Ablir, Jr. discussed the powers and functions of the Barangay Council and the relationship of the barangay, municipal, provincial and national governments.

Other resource persons were coordinators Josephine Antonio and George Orcullo of the Dumaguete City Planning and Development Office; and Dr. Victoria Dinopol, vice president for academic affairs of the Negros Oriental State University.*RG
