Inducted were Samuel Daclan, president; Jimmy Maravilla, vice-president; Lawrence Cavile, auditor.
Members of the board of directors are Oscar Abajon, Manuel Basilio Sr., Ma. Luisa Columna, Jose Randy Gargarita, Antero Mangao, Luther Ramos, Blas Tabayag Jr., and Vincent Villo, the press release said.
Members of the election committee are Jude Semillano, Dennis Oyos and Darryl Escanlar.
Also present at the induction were Vice Mayor Delia Anacan, who also gave a message, and the city councilors, the press release added.*

Training on BPO conducted
IN BACOLOD
Newly-elected officials from 35 barangays in Bacolod City attended an orientation-workshop on the issuance of barangay protection orders, Monday, a press release from event organizer said.
The training, conducted by Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, was aimed at improving the capability of participants to respond to cases of violence against women and children.
They were taught on the four major classifications of offenses under Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004. These are physical, sexual, psychological violence and economic abuse, the press release said.
The Soroptimist International Bacolod led by Pacita Adeva sponsored the activity, along with the Zonta International Bacolod headed by Sally Ledesma.
It was also in observance of the International 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.
Participating officials were from barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 22, 27, 29, 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 40, Alijis, Banago, Bata, Cabug, Estefania, Granada, Mandalagan, Montevista, Pahanocoy, Punta Taytay, Taculing, and Vista Alegre, the press release added.*

Peace unity concert held
A concert called “Sing for Me: A Call for Peace and Unity” was held at the Promenade Concert Park of the Central Philippine University, Jaro, Iloilo City, recently, a press release from organizers said.
Participants included the Philippine National Police band and the choral groups of Sto. Domingo Elementary School , Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, SOS Children's Village, Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Jaro Evangelical Church and the Lapaz Catholic Church.
Present at the concert were OIC-Regional Director Teresita Rosales of the DSWD, Dr. Rinand Escuban of CPU External Affairs and Public Relations Office, Councilor Erwin Plagata and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake President Pastor Torres, the press release said.
The project was conducted in Western Visayas in November. It was aimed at generating donations of cash, and sponsorships and these reached P243,400.
The cash donations will be used in establishing Bahay Pag-asa villages all over the country. The houses are used as temporary shelters for children in conflict with the law, the press release added.*

San Carlos PESO
gets recognition
The San Carlos City Public Employment Service Office was named Best Performing PESO, city category, and ranked first place as Top PESO Implementer in Region VI for 2007, a press release from the city said.
The awards were presented by the Department of Labor and Employment at Sampaguita Gardens Resort, New Washington in Aklan recently.
San Carlos City PESO also ranked first place as Top PESO Implementer and third place as Top SPES Implementer in the region in 2006, the press release added.*
