BoC exceeds target
collection at P72M
BY JAUNCHO GALLARDE

The collections of the Bureau of Customs in Dumaguete City hit a record high of more than P72 million as of November this year with a target collection of only P55 million.

Customs collector Medolita Cabanag attributed the increase to three major tax contributors, palm oil, pryce gas and ammonium nitrate.

Caban ag lauded taxpayers for promptly settling their obligation with the government.

The BoC will award the Broker of the Year Award to Bensing Raguindin of Cebu today at the BoC Dumaguete office, she said.

This was after deputy customs collector Camad Ali lambasted what he calls as failure to strictly implement provisions of the Lateral Attrition Law.

He said benefits due the employees who have already done their part in achieving their targets, are not yet given to them.

Ali said they're still hopeful the benefits will be given soon to reward hard-working employees who contributed immensely to the government's tax collection program.*JG
