| The entire Negros Oriental was not affected by the two-day nationally coordinated transport strike that kicked off yesterday.
Neither government officials and the transport sector in the province and Dumaguete City has declared the stoppage of transport operations, and pedicabs, jeepneys and buses continued to ply the streets.
The local chapter of transport group, PISTON, also did not declare a strike, unlike in Bacolod City where more than 96 percent of public transportation was crippled.
From morning until evening yesterday, there were no indications of groups planning to stage a strike in all the towns and cities of Negros Oriental.
Ceres buses were also on regular trips.
In Negros Occidental, Ceres buses and OMC double-tire vehicles did not join the protest rally against the increase in prices of fuel staged by the United Negros Drivers and Operators Center .
The strike in Negros Occidental will continue today.*GCT
